Running is a great way to get fitter and healthier… joining Newent Runners is the perfect way to commit to running regularly, helping you feel better in yourself, physically and mentally. It’s also a great way of forming new relationships with other runners and find running partners to run with outside of club sessions.
If you are a complete beginner and you feel like you’re living a couch potato lifestyle you can make your first step to a better healthier life with Newent Runners. All levels of fitness and running experience are always very welcome… whether a plodder or a whippet!

MONDAY “SHUFFLERS”
All welcome. Meet at Newent Doctors Surgery – 6.30pm. Variety of routes to suit all abilities – this week’s run will be posted on the Facebook Group page. Hi-viz and Head Torch required in winter months.
TUESDAY “TROTTERS”
Meet at the Newent Library car park by the Newent Doctors Surgery entrance for 6.30pm start.
Keep your eye on the Facebook page for any last minute changes. Hi-viz and head torch required in winter months.

WEDNESDAY “COACHED SESSION”
Leaders: Varies each week.
Meet on the astroturf at Newent Community School during the winter months (October – March) and at Newent Cricket Club during the summer months. Winter start time is: 6.10pm for 6.20pm start.
Summer start time: 6.20pm for 6.30pm start.
“THIRSTY” THURSDAYS
Meet at 6.30pm start at Newent Doctors Surgery entrance by the Library car park, ending with a pint or two at Cobblers (Church Street).
Hi-viz and head torch required in the winter months.
SATURDAY “NEWENT PARKRUN”
Newent Parkrun, a WEEKLY, FREE, TIMED 5k Run
– meet at 8.45am for a 9.00am start at Newent Community School/Leisure Centre.

SUNDAY “SOCIAL”
Meet at the Newent Lake car park 9.00am, or earlier if running elsewhere for an 9.00am start time at the venue.
All welcome, distances to suit. Keep an eye on the Facebook group for each weeks schedule.
Please note that Wednesday is the only coached session. All other events are informal social runs
(often led by a qualified leader, but not always) and, as such participate at your own risk.

BEGINNERS AND IMPROVER COURSES
Newent Runners always welcome people of all abilities and have successfully run 0-5k
Beginners and 5-10k Improvers Courses.
If you would like to start running but aren’t sure how to, one of their 0-5k courses is an ideal place to start.
IMPROVERS – 5-10K
This course is principally designed for people moving up from the Beginners 0-5k,
or running small distances twice a week or more and would like to go further.
