Valegro the Dancing Horse Bronze Statue Unveiling

VALEGRO
Valegro – Olympic Gold Medalist Dressage Horse
Valegro was the guest of honour at the unveiling of his bronze statue in his home town of Newent.
The Newent Initiative Trust worked in close collaboration with Carl Hester MBE, along with the involvement from Charlotte Dujardin and groom Alan Davies – and the talented sculptor Georgie Welch to produce this beautiful half-size bronze sculpture.
This unique public sculpture celebrates the astounding career and international achievements of Valegro; the renowned Olympic Gold Medalist dressage horse who broke every world record in the sport during his career; now happily retired.
The statute was funded by selling 12 bronze maquettes, smaller models of the sculpture.
“Eleven were sold and the final one was kindly donated by
Georgie and raffled in Newent on the 29th February 2020”
